Privacy & Philosophy

Your sangha belongs to you.

We believe that spiritual connection should remain deeply personal. In a world where most platforms monetize attention and personal information, Anubandha takes a different path.

Student trust is sacred Spiritual confidentiality No digital exploitation Relationships are not metrics

The Philosophy of Trust

Spiritual communities are built on a foundation of confidentiality and shared presence. Follow-up and care should not become data exploitation. The trust built between a teacher and a student is sacred, and it deserves digital tools that respect those boundaries.

Most apps vacuum details into distant servers like digital black holes wearing pastel gradients. We believe your relationships are not metrics to be sold, harvested, or fed into modern attention-grabbing algorithms.

Anubandha is built on the opposite philosophy: absolute privacy, mutual trust, low-noise simplicity, silent digital presence, absolute data ownership, and complete offline reliability. It is technology that quietly disappears into service, supporting human connection without invading personal boundaries.

Our Technical Commitment

We translate this philosophy directly into our offline-first application architecture:

  • Local Database Only: Every contact record, course log, and follow-up note stays strictly within your device's local sandbox storage. No records are sent to centralized servers.
  • Encrypted Backups: Safeguard your data locally. If you choose to back up your contacts, the app generates fully encrypted, file-based backups that you own and control completely.
  • Optional Export/Import: Move your records easily. Your data belongs to you—export your custom mapping profiles or import spreadsheets entirely offline, with no account dependency.
  • No Telemetry: We do not process, track, or aggregate your activities. Your daily check-in habits and engagement metrics are private to you.
  • No Analytics SDKs: The codebase is stripped clean of tracking scripts. No advertising SDKs, background behavioral listeners, or attention-harvesting software are present.

Device Permissions & Integrity

Any features we request access to are purely functional and local to your device:

  • Contacts Permission: If you import or select contacts from your native address book, the data is read directly on the device and is never uploaded anywhere.
  • Storage/Files Access: Required only to load spreadsheets for column mapping or to write encrypted backup files to your local folder.
  • Local Notifications: Reminds you of scheduled follow-ups without requiring cloud messaging, background synchronization, or network connectivity.

Caring for Student Data

Since Anubandha gives teachers complete control, the way you use this tool should also reflect respect, dignity, and mindfulness:

  • Communicate with Care: Use follow-up check-ins to serve and support, never to pressure or spam.
  • Keep Data Relevant: Keep notes focused on what is helpful to nurture a meaningful, respectful dialogue.
  • Respect Boundaries: If a student requests to opt-out of contacts, flag their record promptly and honor their choice.

“Privacy is not just a technical feature. It is respect in digital form.”

Anubandha is built on the belief that technology should protect relationships, not extract from them. Calm, quiet, and intentional, it is a tool in service of genuine human values.
